On Earth Hartford: A Vibrant Celebration of the Earth!

A Special Earth Day Celebration Coming to Pope Park West

Breakfast Lunch & Dinner (BL&D) is excited to present On Earth Hartford 2024, a vibrant Earth Day celebration in partnership with the Connecticut River Conservancy, Natural Dividends, Blue Earth Compost, Sustainable CT, Forgotten Flea, Connecticut Green Bank, Comma Vintage, and more. Come celebrate the Earth with us on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 12-5 pm, in Pope Park West, a public park on Pope Park Highway on the shared boundary of Hartford’s Parkville and Frog Hollow neighborhoods.

On Earth Hartford is a mini-festival that features workshops, live music, vendors, food trucks, farmers and more. It's an event that highlights the importance of sustainable living and civic participation in the Greater Hartford community. On Earth serves as a vibrant celebration of the Earth and a reward for the volunteerism happening on and around Earth Day in our neighborhood and region.

Building on momentum from the past three years, this year's festival features even more extensive collaborations and partnerships. On Earth 2024 will include a pop-up vintage market in collaboration with Forgotten Flea with more than 30 vintage dealers likely to attend, a Cafeteria Radio vinyl record pop-up, and a cross-section of other small business vendors and environmental groups from all over the state. The day will be packed with activities, including a 24-foot rock climbing wall and upcycling and sustainability workshops. Musical performances throughout the day are presented in collaboration with Funnybone Records. There will also be a speaker series and Q&A sessions with local experts in environmental fields along with a lively collection of interactive vendor booths to be announced soon.

On Earth recognizes the important work of volunteers in the region on and around Earth Day as well as volunteer opportunities that benefit our communities all year long. As a reward for this hard work and commitment, volunteers from partner organizations will have free access to On Earth, where they will enjoy a fun, engaging celebration of the Earth in fellowship with other volunteers and community members.

Pope Park West is a beautiful and unique park located on the edge of the Parkville and Frog Hollow neighborhoods of Hartford. An underutilized section of the park that was once a city dumping ground has been turned into a public green space and a fitting, perfect home for a sustainable, fun and engaging celebration of Earth Day. The day kicks off early with an on-site volunteer opportunity in partnership with Natural Dividends with a Pope Park clean up just in time for spring activities.

On Earth Hartford invites you to join us for this festive event, which we hope will inspire you to take action for the planet and connect with Hartford neighbors. If you can, help us continue to celebrate Earth Day in a fun and civically engaging way by making a donation. Through our renewed partnership with Sustainable CT, we are raising important funds for On Earth through the Community Match Fund, which matches community donations dollar for dollar up to $7,500. Your support will allow us to grow key partnerships and sustainable programming for this inclusive and accessible celebration.

Inspired to make a donation and help On Earth grow for years to come? Give via our page with Sustainable CT and they will match it! patronicity.com/project/support_on_earth_hartford_2024
